Eliza Langland is an actress, known for Outlander (2014), Machair (1993) and Taggart (1983). Besides studying drama at Queens College, she also trained in Mime, Movement and Mask theatre, and is skilled and experienced as a maker of masks for performance, exhibition and sale and enjoys teaching theatre skills to students at all levels.
Her wide writing and acting career spans Edinburgh’s Royal Lyceum, Traverse, Perth, Glasgow, Manchester, London, Edinburgh Festival, Touring and BBC Radio. Winner Scottish Arts Club “Best Edinburgh Festival Performance Award.” Runner up BT Technology Journalism Award and Commended Sony Radio Awards.
She is also a qualified Hypnotherapist and coach, a specialism that will shortly, surprisingly perhaps, play its part in her forthcoming book on Shakespeare’s original playing techniques. “Thou Art Alive – Part Two!” On the comedy front, Eliza regularly performs her own mix of music and comedy sketches on the lively spoken word scene in and around Edinburgh.
